The Equity Guild is an association of people who work or aspire to work in a professional environment.
Equity Benevolent Guild of WA is a non-profit organisation made up of the members of Actors Equity in Western Australia and established in 1979 to support, promote and develop Western Australian professional performers and, in the wider community, to encourage the appreciation of live performance by WA artists.
Any financial Actors Equity member of the Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance in WA is auto-matically considered an Equity Benevolent Guild member unless the Guild is otherwise notified.
The Guild controls three main projects:
The property management and development of 123 Claisebrook Road in partnership with the Musicians Guild.
The ongoing judging process and the resulting annual Perth Theatre Trust Equity Benevolent Guild Awards event.
The Perth Theatre Trust/Equity Guild Awards is Perth’s premier awards event for live theatre and the only awards event for the professional theatre industry in WA.
The rental and maintenance of our holiday home at Seabird.
We also provide assistance to financial members experiencing hardship or for professional development purposes.
Work done in support of the Guild is done on a voluntary basis by members of the Guild Committee.
